The True Meaning Of Cross
Generally, people believe that the cross means suffering or trials and temptations of the world. Do not accept or expect that God would portion sufferings to every child of His and then put hindrances in the child’s way. No good parent would do such a thing. And not as much would a Almighty Father, who is full of loving-kindness, mercy and generousity.
Spiritually, the cross means Truth. That is why it is often associated with the Dove. Both simply mean Truth and Holy Spirit. Cross also means responsibility – the sole purpose of your life on earth, for which God sent you to the world.
When Jesus said you must deny yourself, carry your cross and follow Him, He meant that you should always stand by the Truth while doing your God-assigned responsibility in life.
You Don't Need To Carry Or Wear The Cross About
You do not need to carry or wear the cross about. It should not be sown on the dresses and garments. God does not approve of such outward shows, and Jesus was clear and emphatic in condemning such practices. Indeed, many churches have out of their own imaginations introduced many unnecessary things in their beliefs and practices, even to their own deceit and detriment.
Likewise, you do not have to cross yourself in the name of the Father, of the son and of the Holy Spiriit. Such practices are the imaginations of the religious leaders and their members follow suit.
